Mrs J Kurasinski

We believe. We achieve. We succeed.

Fearnville's PE vision

"PE at Fearnville is taught to maximise the physical ability of every child with engaging lessons and opportunities to take part in competitive sport.  We strive to provide outstanding lessons and exciting experiences which will awaken a life-long love of and participation in a wide variety of different sports." Mr Cassidy PE coordinator

PE / Sport Premium funding.

In April 2013, the Government announced new funding of £150 million for PE and sport.  This funding should be used to improve the quality and breadth of PE and sports provision.

PE is delivered through the curriculum at all key stages.  At both key stages 1 and 2, PE is delivered twice a week one indoor lesson and one outdoor lesson. PE lessons  are currently delivered by class teachers or PPA teachers.

The money has been spent on increasing participation for ALL children, raising the profile of sport within school, acquiring new skills, giving the children a wider range of experiences and activities through sport and increasing Fearnville's participation in competitive sports.  This has included new equipment, training for staff, specialist coaches to work alongside the teachers to deliver the curriculum and trips to competitions.

2016 - 2017

The PE and sport funding will be spent on PE equipment, specialist coaches, entry to competitions and transport.  This year at Fearnville children will take part in competitions and clubs including football, rugby, running, ultimate Frisbee, golf, tennis, cycling, triathlon, martial arts, futsal, swimming, new age kurling, dance, cheerleading, netball, basketball, cricket and badminton.
